The Méhari was never about horsepower. It was about being somewhere lovely, slowly, with the people you like, the wind in your hair and the roof rolled down to nothing.

VIMS sources every donor car from Europe and South America, then strips it to the chassis in our Argentina atelier. We refinish every panel by hand, ship the car to Florida to replace the air-cooled flat-twin with a quiet electric drivetrain, and deliver the result to your driveway in Miami, Montauk or Malibu — ready to disappear down a coast road at 55 mph.

We built this car for people who think before they buy. These are the answers we give them.

Easier than almost any other car you own. The Méhari runs on a NetGain motor — American-designed, with strong support across the EV technician community in the US. The battery pack is US-sourced, standard cells, no locked firmware. Any certified EV technician can open this car and understand it immediately. No proprietary black box, no manufacturer hostage situation.

No. Every critical component in the VIMS Méhari is available domestically. Our dealer partners maintain a dedicated parts inventory for exactly this reason. You won't be waiting on a shipment from a European warehouse — the powertrain is American, and the supply chain is local.

The original Méhari was famous for being one of the most serviceable cars ever made. Going electric made it simpler still. No combustion engine. No gearbox. No timing belt. No exhaust. Fewer moving parts than almost any vehicle on American roads today. The things that typically go wrong with cars simply aren't there.

Us. Every VIMS owner has a direct line to our team in Dania Beach, Florida. We build thirty-six cars a year — we know every single one of them. When you call, you reach a person who built your car, not a call centre. Our dealer partners are also briefed on every unit they place.

Yes. This is not a kit car or a replica. Each Méhari retains its original VIN and comes with a US-transferable title. It is titled, registered, and delivered as a legal vehicle — the same way any other car you buy gets handed over. That's part of what makes it rare.
